Facility includes gym, tennis courts, and outdoor basketball courts, lighted baseball fields and play ground. The recreation department is a sponsor of all major youth sports and adult programs.

Dunn Erwin Rail Trail

Scenic 5.3 mile rail corridor that has been transferred into a nature trail for walking, biking and strolling. Trail heads in both downtown Erwin and Dunn. Historic markers are located along the trail as well as restaurants and shops at both ends.

This newly certified 5K course runs through the countryside along the Black River and into downtown Erwin. The course is essentailly flat and straight. Trail is open during daylight hours. For more inforamtion call 910-897-7300.

The Cape Fear River Trail Park
The Cape Fear River Trail Park had its grand opening on May 3rd, 2008. The park was made possible by a grant from the Park and Recreation Trust Fund and the donation of land from the Harnett Forward Together Committee. The park features include over one mile of trails, four overlooks, a picnic shelter with restrooms, and canoe/kayak access. Sponsor of children's story hour, Tuesday at 11:00a.m. for preschool ages, summer reading program for preschool to age 12. This activity includes crafts, games, and reading program. Offered each summer.

Averasboro Civil War Battlefield and Museum
Located on Hwy 82. From I-95, take Exit 71 and follow markers.

Historic markers and a museum outline the events of this March 1865 military action which highlights Lebanon, the 1825 plantation home used as a Confederate hospital, and the Chicora Cemetery, where the battle dead are buried. This battleground is included in the N.C. Civil War Trails.

General William C. Lee Airborne Museum

The home of Dunn native Major General William C. Lee, "Father of the U.S. Army Airborne." General Lee was responsible for the concepts and organization of the Airborne. His former home is a three-story early 20th century Neo-classical revival house.

Admission, $1 for adults and children over 12.
