Keith Hills was designed by Ellis Maples and is ranked #7 in public courses in NC by Carolina Magazine and received a 3.5 star award along with a top 100 distinction among rated courses in the United States by Golf Digest. Pine Burr Golf US 401 South Lillington, NC 27546 (910) 893-5788 Located just off US 401, this course is excellent for the beginning golfer to the more accomplished and features a putting green and pro shop. Course is 18 holes, par 72, and 6,537 yards. Course rating of 68.2. Tee times required on weekends and holidays. Price range: under $20 on weekdays and just over $20 on weekends. Averasboro Civil War Battlefield and Museum Located on Hwy 82. From I-95, take Exit 71 and follow markers. (910) 891-5019 Historic markers and a museum outline the events of this March 1865 military action which highlights Lebanon, the 1825 plantation home used as a Confederate hospital, and the Chicora Cemetery, where the battle dead are buried. Lee Airborne Museum 209 W. Divine Street, just off I-95 Exit 73 (910) 892-1947 The home of Dunn native Major General William C. Lee, "Father of the U.S. Army Airborne." General Lee was responsible for the concepts and organization of the Airborne. His former home is a three-story early 20th century Neo-classical revival house. Hours: Tues.-Fri., 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sat., 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Admission, $1 for adults and children over 12. Group tours are available as well as a small library meeting room. Raven Rock State Park Located nine miles west of Lillington off U.S. 421 (910) 893-4888 The park features an immense crystalline structure rising 150 feet and stretching for more than a mile along the Cape Fear River. Experience the unspoiled, natural beauty of this 3,000 acre park through hiking, horseback riding, canoeing, fishing, camping, kayaking, picnicking and studying nature.
